Getting started

AutoPrint vs Printful: a personal print or a selling workflow?

Choose AutoPrint when you want to describe artwork or supply a file and order a personal print. Choose Printful when you need its documented tools and integrations for selling products. Keep an established selling workflow if a personal-order studio does not replace the work you need.

Compare one concrete job

Compare one print from the same owned image, with matching size, material, frame and US destination. In AutoPrint, upload the image in the studio, choose the product and inspect its crop before reviewing checkout.

Printful documents a Design Maker and a custom wall-art ordering workflow. Add the file, review placement and product choices, then inspect the order. If you are selling, separately include storefront integration and fulfillment setup. Those seller tasks are not equivalent to ordering one gift in AutoPrint.

Compare the cost for this scenario

Printful lists a $0/month Free plan with a Design Maker. The print itself is not free: its pricing page separates product base cost, extras, shipping and tax. Growth lists $24.99/month, with eligibility for a waived subscription at its stated sales threshold; it is not required as the assumed price of one Free-plan order.

For one matched print, compare the complete product, options, shipping and tax from each checkout. AutoPrint’s selected product quote and an equivalent Printful quote were not obtained, so the delivered total and any savings remain unknown. Include paid seller tools only if your scenario actually needs them.

What moving the work involves

Keep the original print file and a specification sheet with dimensions and crop. Check one sample order before moving a catalog or customer fulfillment. A personal-order workflow is not an importer for seller listings, integrations or order history.

If moving seller work, inventory SKUs, mockups, customer data, platform permissions and open orders. No automatic migration between Printful and AutoPrint was verified. Keep the existing setup when those responsibilities still require it.

Start from an idea you have not drawn

A first-time buyer may know the scene they want but have no finished file. AutoPrint accepts a picture brief and a physical format together. You can then inspect the resulting artwork on the product.

That removes a separate image-creation step from this particular task. You can also upload a photo when you already have one. The benefit is a direct path from a personal idea to a selected object.

What Printful brings to a seller’s workflow

Printful’s wall-art offering includes several physical formats. Its Design Maker accepts uploaded images and design elements, and its published workflow includes designing and selling prints.

A seller may need store integrations and operational features beyond a single personal order. Those are reasons to investigate Printful directly rather than equating the two products merely because both print images.

Compare the part of the job you need

For one gift you have not designed, describe the image and physical format in AutoPrint, review the result and select the product options. You can move from a picture idea to its physical preview in the same studio, or upload an original when you already have the image.

For products you will sell repeatedly, assess Printful’s seller workflow, integrations and file requirements against your business needs. In either case, check the current specifications and final delivered cost for the selected item. The personal-order workflow and the system for selling to your own customers serve different tasks.
